Theresa Lapow, Sr. Program Manager, Military Spouse Program Lead, Amazon
Theresa joined Amazon in 2016 to build the military spouse program after Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos announced last May that the company would hire 25,000 veterans and military spouses in 5 years as part of the First Lady, Michelle Obama’s Joining Forces Commitment.
Theresa is originally from Seattle Washington where she started her career at Microsoft. She moved to Washington, DC is early 2010 to work in the Obama Administration. There she worked for Elizabeth Warren, Secretary Penny Pritzker and First Lady, Michelle Obama supporting national financial and employment policies. Theresa served under executive director Captain Todd Veazie on the Joining Forces team and activated some of Americas most influential companies to hire our nations' veterans.
After leaving DC, Theresa became a marketing director at Salesforce working on launching 2 new products in the Healthcare and financial services sectors. During this time, she become a caregiver to her husband, Brandon Lepow who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2013. After he passed away in October of 2015, she moved home to Seattle to continue her work in serving the military community at Amazon. She is passionate about helping people keep continuity and grow in their passions and careers despite personal hardships.
